The #1 thing that bothers me right now are all the ads for mental health online

I literally have zero anxiety ever and don't need any help. This seems like some kind of psyop. Are tech companies pushing this? What's the agenda? Suddenly everyone in the world needs therapy? This is just psychotic, everywhere you go on the internet everything is about mental health and anxiety. It's seriously insane. I wish I could permanently block any mention of mental health, anxiety, or self acceptance, three things I have no use for and don't believe in.
I suspect this is some kind of astroturf tech conspiracy. |

i think your gripe is that therapy and treatment is ineffective and being extremely monetized. and plenty of people psychs and other professionals would strongly agree with you. that doesn't mean mental illness =/= real. |

When I ended it she sent me like 7 full length pages of texts about how I was missing out on the best relationship of my life. Poor gal she was sweet but the crazy was 10/10. |

Severe mental illness can disable someone, but having anxiety or depression or whatever are things that everyone experiences from time to time. Convincing someone that they need a YUGE pharmacological and thereapeutic intervention anytime they start feeling bad is a huge overreaction designed to prop up this industry. Also, these thereapists have like no training. They take like 2 courses on cognitive behavioral therapy, and then get paid like $200 an hour to sit at home with a noise making machine and take people through basic meditation techniques. It's deeply disturbing. The other big online industries are of course coaching, guruing, podcasting. It's like people wake up one day and say to themselves, "my calling is to be a pompous, repititious weirdo who puts out 10 YT videos a week!" Amerikkka is fucked. |

It would be seen as terrifying mental illness for a healthy boy to be sitting in classrooms for his teenage years. It would be seen as sociopathic for women to pursue careers. You would be "crazy" to be a lawyer on a screen.
And not in some edgy, semi-ironic posting way. But in actuality, people would usher their children away from you as a sick, dangerous man.

This leads to an inability to process emotions normally. Most people with ADHD show signs of emotional dysregulation. For me, I will often get stuck on a negative emotion and be unable to pass it for long periods of time. This is also why I can't smoke weed because this effect is exacerbated.
But talking to a fat negress on betterhelp.com isn't going to fix everything. I learned to live with my condition and make the best of things. All my problems have practical solutions and I have gotten better at them over time with discipline and self regulation. |
