Pros:

-Incredible opening sequence; an Extravaganza

-Acting much better than any of these since the first one, and there are at least some emotional stakes. Even if they're not very sophisticated they feel sort of

-Mostly hits the right balance between shouting out the previous movies in little fun ways without being super Reddit fan about it

Cons:

-Needed a couple more kill scenes IMO

-The CGI gore is iffy a lot of the time, and some of the other CGI stuff, too.

-Ending is terrible; I like it conceptually, but they went to one particular well too many times for it to work as a callback, and the effects just ruin it.

-The characters eventually get a decent groove, but the first 5-10 minutes after the prologue are really bad amateur hour shit

I agree with most of this.

additional pro: this movie was a bit funnier than the earlier movies. the pierced angsty son was solid comedic relief.

I didn't *hate* the ending but do think it could have been better. Agree that overall the movie had some cool easter eggs for longtime fans of the franchise and was a bit self referential to some of the high points of the earlier films without overdoing it.

Agree BIGLY that it needed maybe 2 more good death scenes.

Saw it with a friend that's not very into horror. He had seen the original Final Destination 20 years ago but none of the sequels. He absolutely loved it. I think it functions very well as a mostly stand-alone film for people that aren't hardcore FD fans.

I think it was pretty good but not great. Overall if I had to rank it, I'd put it below parts 1-3 but above 4 & 5

Agree 100%

I thought the comedy mostly worked

I like the idea of the ending but it mostly reminded me that I need to rewatch 2 again

I also need to rewatch 4; I remember that I hated the first half of it but that once they got to the mall it was really entertaining

I really thought well of the first two movies. I especially liked Tony Todd's bit - "I'll see YOU later hehe".
