The Xmas special was typical dumb 70s variety show dreck, no better or worse than similar programming of the era. Date: June 7th, 2025 4:03 AM Author: Founder of Economy got into lawrence welk reruns this last year and found him to be quite the accordion expert and a charismatic showman to boot folkish stuff like polka can't really ever be "dated" anyway. in germany much of the non-urban CDU base tunes into polka/folk/waltz lawrence welk type programs on the regular; was surprised to see there was such a wide following for it the muppets specials (that i've seen) are all high quality and just as funny today as they were ten years ago or probably fourty years ago as well. that show and jim henson's stuff in general has aged extremely well |
