Or just being a dumb Indian bitch ... girl power!
May 18, 2023: Indian woman climber who had fallen ill at the Mt Everest base camp passed away. Suzanne Leopoldina Jesus, a 59-year-old climber from Mumbai, Maharashtra, had been unwell for over six days while at the base camp. Despite her condition, she adamantly refused to leave, determined to climb Mt Everest at any cost.
Expedition Organizer revealed that Suzanne was airlifted from the base camp to Lukla the previous evening. However, her health continued to deteriorate, and she ultimately breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lukla at around 5:13 am.

However, the 59-year-old died on Thursday after she fell ill during the acclimatisation exercises at the Everest base camp.
According to Yuvaraj Khatiwada, Director at the Tourism Department of Nepal, Suzanne was asked to abandon the attempt to summit Everest after failing to maintain a normal speed during the acclimatisation exercise on the base camp and showing difficulty climbing.
But she refused the advice, asserting that she had to climb the 8,848.86 metres-high peak as she had already paid the fee for acquiring permission to climb the mountain.

Had to take her forcibly
Dendi Sherpa, Chairman of Glacier Himalayan Trek, which organised her expedition, said they had to take her back to Lukla forcibly.
"We had told her to abandon the climb five days ago, but she was committed to ascending Everest," he said, adding that it was found during the acclimatisation that Suzanne was not qualified for further ascending the mountain.
How she struggled at base camp
Sherpa also wrote a letter to the Department of Tourism mentioning that Suzanne was not in a position to climb Mt. Everest as it took her more than 5 hours to reach Crompton Point, above the base camp, which is just 250 metres long.

Climbers can usually cross the distance in 15 to 20 minutes, but it took Suzanne five hours on the first attempt, six hours on the second attempt and 12 hours on the third attempt to reach the point during the acclimatisation exercise, Sherpa said.
"However, she wanted to set a new world record by becoming the first Asian woman to summit Everest with a pacemaker," he said, adding that she was having difficulties in her throat and could not even swallow food easily.

Tributes poured in for Sugarman, described by various friends and family as a legendary latke chef who was always after the perfect crispness, a lover of the trumpet and "an exceptional humanitarian who touched and changed for the better lives from the deserts of the Navajo Nation to isolated villages in Alaska to the streets of Seattle."

“It is with deep sorrow that IMG reports the death of one of our Everest 2023 team members at Camp 2,” Eric Simonson, CEO of International Mountain Guides, said in a post on the website. “We can confirm that this event was not the result of a climbing accident or route condition that would be of potential impact or safety concern to any other teams on the mountain.”

When Sugarman reached Camp 3 last year, he decided that his Everest itch was scratched.
"I was quite certain that I’d not be back," he wrote in an email to friends and family, which Maya Sugarman shared with USA TODAY. "I was even more certain that my serious Himalayan climbing days were over, as evidenced in part by the fact that I left my (very expensive) mountaineering boots with my Sherpa guide."
Sugarman said he felt a "sense of closure and satisfaction" until he heard from climbing partners from the same trip that they had summitted the mountain and believed he would have made it, too.
"Basically, I thought they were probably right (and) a sense of unfinished business prevailed — the business being getting an answer to the question of how far up the mountain would let me go," he wrote. "Although I feel like I’m in much better shape this year than last, I’m also aware that only about 2/3 of those who attempt the summit are successful — and success rates are MUCH lower for old men like me."
So, he said he would define success not by reaching the top of Everest. But rather: "Giving it a good try and returning home, hopefully with all of my fingers and toes."

There were also equipment thefts at high elevation (camp three, I think?) this year that messed up some group’s summit attempts.
Could get the same crime and indiscriminate violence just climbing a hill in SF and saving yourself $100k in guide fees.

"zero chance that anyone finds your body this millennium"
maybe thats a plus and they'll be resurrected by superhumans in 1,000 years, bodies perfectly preserved in cold
have you seen into the void? you'd like it
