Humans became shitty at making these as technology improved, even up through 2020ish, pre-AI. Kind of like how The Simpsons became so much less funny right as the production value improved, around the point where they clearly stopped hand-drawing it and started using Computers. Star Wars is another example of the same phenomenon. Idk the mechanism and most will just say “George Lucas needs a Producer telling him what to do!” Even though the lack of that is what made Empire so good. Digital and Greenscreens deserve a lot of the blame imo. If the fuckin’ shoe fits, wear it.
With AI though, it’s over. There will never be new fiction again that you can trust isn’t AI-assisted. For the rest of Time. Film already basically has looked like AI for years with sfx somehow getting worse as tech “improved.”
And the State of Gaming. My god. It’s already a disaster. The only Reprieve is to make your own Games imho.

In all seriousness I agree. I sound like a broken record talking about this stuff but AI really will destroy all of these things
The one bright spot is that anyone will be able to make video games. This is legitimately very cool. But the problem is that video games are mostly a social outlet for people now. So there will still be the problem of a handful of popular games commanding everyone's attention at any given moment, because those games are a social medium for the vast majority of "gamers," and smaller, promising games will be ignored
A lot of how this is all going to go down depends on what happens with the public internet. Autonomous and directed AI hackers are probably going to destroy the public internet within the next year. It could open the door for genuine decentralization of online activity. Hard to predict what's going to happen

I agree. They are already working on this from a bunch of different angles. But AI coding assistance means that decentralized networks could be made much easier too
The real threat is hardware real ID, which they are also already working on. I think that's probably inevitable. Tbh I think people should probably be stockpiling consumer PC hardware. It's already getting really expensive. It's more attractive to hardware manufacturers to produce stuff for compute infrastructure and large orgs as opposed to home PCs. The normgroid masses use phones to access the internet anyway
Could be a very dark future ahead imho

whenever I point out that humans are defined by their limitations, everyone gets angry and lashes out. And that's before I've even mentioned that Life is Fundamentally Meaningless. people don't want to hear The Truth even as they mindlessly "progress" towards Nothing at terminal velocity.
As this tech progresses and eventually reveals everyone to be The Same biological automaton with an illusion of Self, our collective insanity will deepen and widen and possibly even trigger an Extinction Event (like the Death Stranding haha).
