Depends.

Neurosurgeons can make tons in remote level 1 and level 2 trauma centers because it's so hard to attract them to the middle of nowhere.

They can go pretty much wherever they want. It's just a matter of picking their income.

But that's not the case with doctors who perform a lot of elective procedures, for instance.
