Everyone with a brain recognizes that Kamala is a weird, nervous, socially awkward uncharismatic midwit who was only elevated to her position because of DEI, but Dems still would have legitimately had to deal with a public revolt within black liberal political circles (especially w/ black women which is an absolutely critical demographic for them) if they hadn't picked her under the circumstances, and they knew it and acted accordingly.

Even Barack "Black Messiah" Obama couldn't figure out how to square that circle despite his best efforts to figure out a way to skip Kamala, and so they all reluctantly sighed and went down the only real path that was left open to them with their fingers crossed.

I legitimately believe that if they had ousted Kamala for anyone OTHER than another black woman, it would have severely depressed black female turnout in November and doomed them outright for POTUS (and probably also severely fucked up a ton of other competitive downballot races). And obviously sticking with Biden wasn't a real option once the cat was fully out of the bag about his mental deterioration, because it was clear that normies and moderatetards were NEVER going to accept that situation no matter what (((the media))) said about it.

Aside from Michelle and Oprah (both of whom probably turned them down flat), I can't think of another older black woman with a national presence / following who would have done any better in this race under these circumstances than Kamala.

All of which is to say that this might well have been the shrewdest political play they could possibly make when you consider the totality of the circumstances. Of course, it was still a profoundly retarded play, and Dems have no one to blame but themselves for setting up the board in a way that ultimately forced them to choose between "profoundly retarded play" and "outright political suicide" in the homestretch of the 2024 campaign. kamala just seems like a sure fire loser. whatever the political cost, it seems like they would be better off picking someone with *any* chance. plus these are lib voters -- they have goldfish memories and so long as a brown person with a slimepit was nominated they'd come around. of course they'd have to bribe kamala with secretary of state or something to get her to play ball. but if the options were "either you endorse X and play ball or you're done" i think she'd go along with the machine, as she always has.

otoh i didn't think they'd be able to keep her on ice as they've done since the campaign started. the most impressive thing i've seen them do is recognize how toxic she is and keep her out of the spotlight. we'll see how that plays out after tomorrow though.

I agree, but I think the key consideration is that Dems don't damage their standing with black female voters by running her and losing (in fact that actually boost it even further) -- in contrast, if they had subbed in just about anyone else instead of her, they would have risked inflicting serious and lasting damage to their political brand with one of their key demographics.

(Not that black women would suddenly start voting GOP, but rather a substantial percentage of them might have been mad enough to permanently just stop making an effort to actively support the Democrats, ie "Naw nigga fuck this shit we out.")

Nigger bitches are dumb as shit, but they are also petty as hell and extremely vocal about their strongly-held opinions and IMO they somehow actually do have memories like elephants when it comes to holding grudges about shit that REALLY pisses them off. Watching the "historic" first black female VP get blatantly skipped over when it was "clearly her turn" by their own "rah rah black kweens slay, yasssss girl!" gay political party might well have triggered that collective response AFAIK.

With that said, I think Obama and Nancy were going to push a mini primary, but Joe shivved them by endorsing Kamala. Note that he did it in a tweet like 30 minutes after resigning (also via tweet, weird). And Obama did not endorse her for many days afterwards. Literally NO ONE in the Democratic Party wanted this bitch to be the nominee. But Biden forced their hand on his way out.
