Been using the ds adapt max K and it's amazing. More forgiving than ping g440 max and way better feel off the face

Might have to look into their irons

Nice dude. Cobra is doing amazing things right now.

I went back and forth between the 2H and 3H, but figure I can adjust loft down to 19 (from 17) in case I ever want to adjust my gapping.

I use my Callaway ti340 on super narrow fairways or dog legs. I could use my 4W (17*) for almost the same distance, but the mini launches higher and straighter with a more predictable flight off the tee

Also use the mini from rough to bump it back onto fairway if it's in a crispy lie or under a tree with a 1/4 swing when I need to stay low to avoid branches

This would be strictly off the tee and would take the 3W place in my bag.

45.5" 9-10 degree Driver on Trackman is 290 max, ~265 average on a good strike.

43.75-44" 13 degree 2W/thriver is 270 max, 250 average on a good strike.

Use the 2W on tighter holes, holes where there's no great benefit to an extra 15-20 yards, holes that favor a draw. Generally about a 50-50 split on par 4s and 5s between the 2, other than the odd par 4 that forces an iron or hybrid.

Nice man. Hopefully one day I can achieve this level of complexity. Right now my driver and 3w are unreliable so I hit a 5H off all par 4s and 5s. It’s a reliable 170 yard club for me but I’m hoping the 2H can get me up near 200.

I can't hit a 3w off the deck with any consistency. Off the tee, like most mid handicappers, I get more benefit from the larger face of the driver than hitting a 3W. Hence the "2W" build as a secondary club off the tee. I hit ~10% more fairways with the 2W than driver in the 30 rounds I've had this set up, so I think it makes sense.

Yeah I don't miss the 3W at all, was hitting it less than once a round. Even the next spot in the bag, where I alternate between 3h and 5W, I almost never hit either. Rare exception is if I'm 225-250 out on a par 5 and there isn't much greenside trouble to worry about. Love my cobra king tec 4h in the next spot and use that a lot more often.

It's funny how they invest millions in making a driver .1% higher MOI or wedges with 50 different grind and bounce configs

But they put 0 effort into making woods/hybrids more forgiving or adding heel/edge relief for sweepers (ie majority of amateurs)

having a 3W you can hit off the deck is a value add in my mind. probably moreso than the benefit you get from hitting a slightly longer/more playable 2 wood. problem with mini drivers in general is unless you practice all the time, you have to learn how to be accurate and consistent with two drivers vs. your usual one.

The ff33 adapter also lets you loft up the 10.5 to 11.9 or 12.5 while keeping standard lie

I don't want to change face angle too much and add a left bias start line though. Would rather a 12 lofted up to 13 or kept at 12, depending on what the launch conditions look like.

The whole point of ff33 is that it can change loft without any impact to face angle at all

That's what I meant by keep standard lie. You can also adjust the loft up and down in similar amounts and simultaneously bend the face upright or flat in increments of ~.7

Basically the ds adapt is taking all the guess work out of BUYING, while creating a possible downside of paralysis of options in the TUNING

I think you're right... but that means they were fraudulently advertising before that "SMARTPAD design keeps the face angle square regardless of the setting."

Or just heavily misleading since you're right, there is no way it can look the exact same angle at address

I just bought a demo 12 degree DSA Max K on a 43.5" shaft to test out as a thriver, see if it can be out my G425 Max with 35g back weight. Unfortunately they don't seem to have after market back weights above 18g for the DSA, so I might need to add a bit of lead tape to get the swing weight where I want. I hit it with the 10g stock weight at 43.5" and it felt like swinging a ladies club. Feels way less solid and stable than the Ping but that was with the swing weight all fucked up. Still flew very straight with tight dispersion and spin tolerance

Just ordered sm11s last night from Vokey WW

Wasn't planning to get new wedges until reading about A+ grind with narrower sole and smoother camber than K. Should be even more forgiving around greens than my LBK.08 with heel and edge relief

Ended up with 54.10s jet black, and 60.08a+ raw finish and hand ground square leading edge. Chose pink ribbon for every single color option including pink flight lines and character stamping

the original vokey chromes are the best ones. your better off scouring ebay/the internet for any new ones that may still exist.

not 100% on the age but it might have non-conforming grooves. also looks like it has a sharp edge that you'd want in a 60*.

I haven't seen much difference between any of the last few vokey models. I'd rather play my original 200 series 54* chrome and 60* raw finish combo plus the Cleveland 588 49* except the groves are worn to living shit and also are non-conforming (I doubt it matters for anything I do).

You sound like a digger whereas I'm a full blown sweeper. My divots are cute and elegant, not sloppy like this wedge demands

The sharp edge is the first thing I would grind down

it's a 60. only use it for chipping. I grew up chipping off drought induced hardpan and my living room carpet. always value a good sharp leading edge.

I actually have 20. 17 below plus the three SM9s in my bag. the rusted out vokey 60* on the bottom right and the cleveland 588 chrome 49* I had in the bag for 20+ years. the dci 962 wedges are surprisingly 180 and I have no idea how/why I have so many snake eyes. also that butcher block table in my basement I bought at a local estate auction just in case I ever need to chop off someone's hand with a meat cleaver.

Did you ever try g440 max? Love cobra but ping is still the king of forgiveness for woods/hybrids off the deck

I replaced my elyte heavenwood with the older g440 7w to get better dispersion and forgivenes. Callaway seemed more forgiving on paper with smart sole design but it's really just a bandaid for chunking and doesn't improve off-center strikes imo
