LMAO, tyft. A truly gorgeous duo if there ever was one.
And it's especially fitting because I just finished listening to the Robert Inglis audiobooks from the early 90s (a beautiful time in this Age of ours, as we all know).
There's something about listening to a good audiobook that always takes me back to stories my parents and grandparents used to tell - which is exactly what Tolkien had in mind, I suspect, given his emphasis on cherished traditions passed down through the Ages, and how those songs and sayings and common senses provide the light to illuminate the path home, even when all else fails:
“For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”
