Mario Kart World is fine, the Nintendo Switch 2 isn't.

this guy sucks imo. Imagine some 8 year old Gen Alpha kid (the actual target audience for this Game) watching this ridiculous millennial bloviate about The State of Mario Kart.
That's the most ridiculous thing about millennial gamers. They aren't just shameless. They think they're 11 years old. They don't understand that they're men. They don't understand that 11 year olds exist atm. This guy could target his content at 11 year olds and get more views. Instead he targets it at 105 IQ redditors. Sure, I Post about the State of Gaming every day for years. But damn it, I have a sense of irony about it ffs.
also he overuses these Losery pseudointellectual words/phrases like "at large," "a health amount of negative," "essentially," and so forth. He also seems to like saying "caveat." Imagine a Jock in the 1990s saying "caveat."

Eight year olds seldom buy anything, it's their parents or other adults who buy stuff for them. So, while I agree there's a sense in which children are the target audience of video games, adults are the customers, and adults are the people Nintendo must sell to.
This explains the phenomenon of the Disney adult, of the AFOL (adult fan of Lego), and other cases where adults have become big fans of franchises originally targeted at children: it's not really that adults are mentally regressing, at least not to the extent it would seem, it's that Disney and the Lego Group have figured out it's a lot easier to sell directly to adults than to try to sell to children, because the latter requires either a) to induce the child to ask an adult to buy the product or b) make the adult believe a child in their life would like them to buy that product for the child.
So Disney and the Lego Group, and no doubt Nintendo, actually have geared their products and services more toward adults: Disney is opening high-end, heavily themed bars at their theme parks and on their cruise ships, Lego is now producing highly intricate and sophisticated sets involving thousands of pieces and advanced building techniques (take it from me, some of these sets require a pair of tweezers to put together properly).
If you think that's perverse, well, it's tough being a kid, and maybe we should think about giving all children a universal stipend that they can spend on whatever they want as long as it's legal, that their parents aren't allowed to touch.
