In a newsroom you're writing things with the potential to reach a large population - you're literally an instrument of propaganda. Your writing will be forced into fitting a narrow viewpoint, particularly from other minority writers. Tow the line and your career is in jeopardy. I doubt even a black Vox writer could have signed the letter without escaping harsh criticism. |
