Eugene is ok. Corvallis is beautiful but prices are surging. Salem is a shithole.
Consider areas around Hood like Sandy if you’re interested in access to Portland. |

bend sounds like my ideal city tbh but not sure that job is really in the picture. if it is, though, i want to be prepared to make an informed choice. |

I wouldn’t live there. I like Santa Fe and northern New Mexico but there are no jobs there and there’s a lot of Urban wealth that drives up prices |

Unless you are in healthcare or can 100% WFH it's going to be very difficult to find high paying white collar jobs in these areas since their economies are mostly tourism based (ABQ is an exception). Bend is probably closest to what you want in terms of lifestyle, but it's actually pretty expensive relative to other areas of Oregon due to all the wealthy Bay Area and Seattle transplants it's attracting plus the job market for professionals is terrible.
