The defendant was an actress or something. We sent a prelit demand to her insurance and he emailed me out of the blue. He doesn't know anything about PI. He was her private counsel. Seems retarded to pay private counsel when you have insurance.

The ones that go to jail all do one or more of the following: set up accidents, tell doctors to make up visits/treatment, make up "costs" they charge to clients, get kickbacks from chiros, etc.
For example, I know an attorney who was disbarred because a client "found him online" and the client told him he had made up treatment and wasn't hurt. The attorney still repped him and submitted a demand. It was a sting and he got disbarred.
I sign up like 120 cases/month and make millions doing everything 100% legit. People are dumb and don't realize if you do a good job and have good customer service you make way more money than being dishonest. Anyone who has used me from XO will tell you that we are 10x better than any firm they've ever interacted with. We are aggressive with insurance/defense, we are very well funded and never have to cave, I understand the medicine very well, and we are super responsive to communication.

This is so incredibly 180. I love how you called him “Chunk.”
I don’t think I would have the balls to do that.
Totally 180 and amazing. You are my favourite lawyer on planet Earth.

First question: Why the fuck would Chunk send you an email rather than a proper letter on letterhead.
Second question--why would OP respond in this way? Seems gratuitously rude. Call Chunk and ask him about his involvement. Politely explain to him that if he horns in on a PI case when there is insurance and an adjustor already involved, there's a good chance the carrier could jam up resolution in a manner that is to his client's detriment. Explain that there's a way these things go and that you have no intention of contacting his client directly anyway. Nicely tell him to buzz off as the carrier will have its own counsel and Chunk's insertion of himself into the case is detrimental to his client rather than helpful.
If he persists, use the "I'll continue to communicate with adjuster line" but the step-and-fetch bit at the end of that was equally unnecessary.
And don't call the man Chunk in writing at least.

Life is very very short. It feels like I just turned 21 and I'm approaching 40. Don't care so much. What's the worst case if I really fuck up with something? I get disbarred? That's fine I can make money doing anything.
And I mean that as 180 life advice. Just do what makes you happy. That email made me happy. I will tell you that I am a very happy guy and I attribute that to limiting whose opinions I value and doing the things that make me happy without overthinking them too much.
The fact that you are afraid to "put it in writing" means you aren't living your life the way you want. Grab life by the pussy, brother.

Always appreciate an opportunity for a sabbatical. But I'm happy with myself and prefer to take trips with my family when possible, so as to maximize time spent with them.
I'm not "too serious" about the case--I think it's neat that Chunk reached out to CSLG--I simply made alternate suggestions as to how one might proceed. There's more than one way to skin a cat, and what was it G. Washington said about picking up the tool by the handle?
As I said, I love what I do and I take it seriously and I don't see why it's wrong to take one's professional work seriously so long as you preserve the spirit that got you into the work to begin with.
