Date: June 3rd, 2023 1:48 AM Author: Wild alcoholic indirect expression private investor I have two of them laying around, an 80 and 160 gig. The 80 worked fine but I ran out of space so I got the 160. Sadly the 160 had SPS quality and the HDD crapped out on it after just a year or two.
Crazy to think that I spent like a combined $800 on them.
I kind of want to replace the battery and do the storage mod where it reads off a memory card rather than the HDD. But I just don't really have a use case for that. I have a Spotify subscription and plenty of data
I should probably sell the things |

But I was pretty early to the home streaming game. In 2008 I had a Logitech Squeezebox Duet that let me listen to my massive mp3 library as well as my Rhapsody subscription |

The Logitech Squeezebox Duet was $400. It had two components, a Receiver and a wifi Controller

They had bad timing with the development of the Controller, it was a relatively complicated, expensive piece and it got outmoded by the advent of smartphone apps that did the same thing.
I got a lot of use out of the Receiver component though, I used it regularly for over a decade until it died. I still use a Squeezebox Touch that I got in 2010 for $210. |
