She is chronically depressed, recently divorced, hasn't worked for several years and spiraling down the drain--highly erratic, constantly getting into car wrecks, and driving me fucking crazy. We keep it as a religious day of observance. Kids get a couple gifts in the vein of St. Nicholaus but it does not overshadow the birth of Christ.
Warning: people freak out when learning you never taught your kids to believe in Santa, but this is not that unusual among religious communities |
