When to follow up when firm has said they want to "move forward"?

Date: December 18th, 2023 7:39 PM Author: Maize candlestick maker home I was told by a small firm's managing partner that she wants to "move forward" but there was an internal matter that needed to be resolved first, likely within the next two weeks. That was one week ago. I responded that day by asking about potential salary and she said she'd get back to me after talking to others within the firm. No follow up yet. (Again, one week ago.)
I have multiple other interviews coming up, but this firm is my dream spot. Do I risk annoying the MP by following up only one week later? Do I explain that I really want to move forward but want to know, going into the holidays, whether I need to give notice to my current employer sooner than later? I really don't enjoy my job so I'm looking for some kind of positive news before firms go silent for two weeks because of Christmas / New Years. |

This sounds reasonable, especially considering that it's often not so easy to disentangle from an employer in this field at the drop of a hat. Communication tends to be spotty around this time of year anyway but this seems to be a reasonable concern worth expressing |
