Yankees fans: front runners, low Scumbags from the Bronx, high Scumbags from the bridges and tunnels who own construction companies, boiler-room Wall Street types.
The fandom does reflect the location to some degree. The Bronx is unashamed cocky violent Scum, Queens is striving losers proud of their 60 year-old 800k 2/2 rancher in the middle of nowhere. |

At least the Nets can now claim they are making a name for themselves in a borough, and previously they tried to court New Jersey.
The Clippers are just sort of there. They don’t have a geographical niche (San Diego doesn’t claim them), they had an awful racist and cheap owner all those years. The new owner is obscenely wealthy and views the team as a passion project, and his self-interested bet is that he can court enough extra interest in a large city like LA to keep his team sort of solvent on its own. It’s pathetic. No one really, truly wants them here.
I honestly don’t think there is a worse team to root for in sports. |
