i think the point of the OP is that a person who was her size in bridget jones was considered by society to be fat whereas it's just normal now. what i'm saying is that someone her size back then wasn't considered fat. dumpy and frumpy yeah, but not fat. hollywood just didn't want to cast an actual fat broad in the role.
now in the 1950s, marilyn monroe was considered to be heavy whereas today she'd be a j crew size 4. |
