i think the point of the OP is that a person who was her size in bridget jones was considered by society to be fat whereas it's just normal now. what i'm saying is that someone her size back then wasn't considered fat. dumpy and frumpy yeah, but not fat. hollywood just didn't want to cast an actual fat broad in the role.
now in the 1950s, marilyn monroe was considered to be heavy whereas today she'd be a j crew size 4. |

it really does demonstrate that society started to off the rails that in 2025 we can get in HR or social trouble if we say that it's unhealthy and gross to weigh 300 lbs. who are these unhinged people pushing fat acceptance? most fats want to be skinny, who is behind this shit? but the very existence of something like the fat acceptance movement explains who hollywood/media has been cramming fat person content down our throats for so many years. god willing we get to take a stand if DEI stuff is going to stay out of favor for a while. |
