The truth:
Epstein and Trump were close friends in the 90s but stopped talking to each other after Epstein's bust in 2005. That's also when Maxwell broke off contact with Epstein.
So Trump and Epstein go back, bigly. Trump has no reason to think he's on any kind of list, but he was tight as a drum with this guy for a long time. Until he wasn't.
As to whether Trump should pardon Maxwell: if Trump knew Maxwell, it was before 2005. He would have had no dealings with her for over a decade by the time she was arrested. And pre-2005 there's no particular reason to think Trump would have had any significant connection to her. He was probably tight with Epstein, but so what? Hence, he doesn't really know Maxwell and doesn't know what she'd say if she talked. |

When Epstein was arrested again in 2019, Trump said he hadn’t talked to Epstein for about 15 years. “I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him,” Trump said in the Oval Office at that time. “I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you.”

like you said, there's never been any incentive for anyone in the US government to investigate this. it doesn't make any sense that people in the US government would have overseen investigation and data collection on a case (assuming this is true) that essentially completely de-legitimizes the establishment order
either this general theory is true, in which case it makes no sense for there to be info kept "on file" that vindicates it, or it's not true, in which case there isn't any info on file because it's not real
either way i really just don't think that the government has or ever had any "epstein files" to begin with, beyond what they've already released earlier this year (flight logs, contact book, etc) |

Prince Andrew gave an interview about Epstein in 2019 and it ASSFUCKED him so hard he resigned the next day. He hasn't been able to travel abroad since 2019 because the FBI had an open investigation on him (which was closed last week).
The real "news" isn't the absence of blackmail tapes, it's that the investigation into Prince Andrew is now closed and there's no risk the US will seek to extradite his ass. |
