HELLO SIR FILIPINOS ARE A VERRY RESILENT INTELLIGENT PPL SIR, THANK U SIR!
A woman in the Philippines went viral after discovering that a statue she had worshipped daily for four years was not Buddha, but a 3D-printed figure of Shrek.
According to social media posts, the woman, who lives in Manila, bought the green statue from a local shop believing it to be a Buddha figure. With its rounded shape and calm expression, she placed it on her home altar, offering incense and praying for blessings every day, the South China Morning Post reported.
The truth came to light when a visiting friend noticed that the statue's color and facial features looked unusual for a traditional Buddha image. A closer look revealed that the figure was actually Shrek, the fictional green ogre from the eponymous animated film series, News18 reported.
Rather than reacting with embarrassment or anger, the woman reportedly laughed at the discovery. She said what mattered most was the sincerity of her prayers, not the appearance of the statue, adding that faith with good intentions was more important than form. She also said she plans to continue worshipping the Shrek figure.
The story quickly spread online, drawing amused and reflective responses from netizens. Some joked about "losing merit points," while others defended the woman’s devotion, saying true faith comes from the heart regardless of the object of worship.
