The Journalism School is pausing admissions for its Master of Arts degree.
Journalism School Dean Jelani Cobb announced the pause in a Thursday afternoon email to Journalism School M.A. alumni obtained by Spectator, citing a “critical evaluation” of the M.A. curriculum.
“To give this review the focus it deserves, we are temporarily pausing admissions for the upcoming admissions cycle,” Cobb wrote.
The pause is reflected on the Journalism School’s admissions website, which teases an eventual “relaunch” of the M.A. program and encourages prospective applicants to contact the admissions office to discuss other programs or “wait” for the relaunch.
The M.A. program, which was first launched in 2005, allows students to gain expertise in one of four subject areas: arts and culture, health and science, business and economics, or politics. The school has historically offered Master of Science degrees since 1935, shortly after its 1912 founding. |
