To be fair to those that do, their "thesis" at this point is that it is digital gold. Real gold has like a $6T market cap, so if Bitcoin replaces that, it should be worth $1M per coin or something. |

Thing is i think buying gold is dumb to begin with. Putting that aside bitcoin still needs to resolve issues relating to custody and scaling before it can seriously appeciate much more imo |

If real gold has a $10T market cap and you think BTC has just a 10% chance of capturing half of that, that implies a "fair" market cap of $500B ($10T x 0.5 x 0.1), which is over 3x the current BTC market cap.
Because of the enormous potential upside, you can think that BTC is more likely than not going to zero, yet still rationally be long BTC. |
