Why are lawyers among the worst people? Does the law create them?

People really concerned with being perceived to be right by their peers. The good ones are concerned with being right or truth as opposed to just convincing others.
The profession also emphasizes the projection of confidence in one's "rightness" or utter disdain for the opponent's argument. Also, an attorney is expected to zealously represent the client even if he personally or morally disagrees with client or what hte client stands for. In these cases, they must ignore their conscience and substitute it for an unfailing belief in the Constitution and due process (criminal) or belief in money/security. I imagine this leads to greater cognitive dissonance that the attorney must spend extra mental energy in balancing.
