shop said nothing wrong with the steering or tranny
i still think the transmission is a bit spotty at times but nothing that requires immediate repair
engine is rock solid. next things im going to be doing are the air filters, tranny oil, water pump
parts + labor for all of these i am assuming will cost around ~1k

basically what happens is 95% of the time shifts will go from g2->g3->g4->g5 in that order
very rarely, it will suddenly skip from g2->g4. that's kinda scary. it usually happens when i give it more juice than usual but still kinda scary to hear the revs suddenly go from like 1000 to 4000 instantly (never happened on my 'stang)
i suspect it has enough life on it to last a couple more years - which is when i will be selling the car
