We tacitly encouraged them to come and so have irrevocably incurred obligations to them because of birthright citizenship.
If your argument is that birthright citizenship needs to be repealed, borders need to be enforced, and anyone with a hint of criminality or otherwise a drain on society needs to be deported—fine, I’m sold. But that leaves an awful lot of people—both citizens and their parents—that have to be accounted for. |
