Visited shanghai before the pandemic and it was fucking amazing. Clean streets and high speed magnet trains for 30 usd.
The skyscrapers and amount of ferraris racing around the clubs at night really show you how much better society can be when everyone is rowing the same direction and not bickering over shitty microgressions or min max politics. Nyc is a shithole in comparison and don’t get me started on the rest of the country. |

If you propose to build a skyscraper in Manhattan you'll get hundreds of boomers to come out screaming against it. Most of the skyscrapers that already exist are grandfathered and wouldn't be legal to build today. The US is basically communist when it comes to zoning.
There's like 30 or 40 blocks in NYC where skyscrapers are essentially legal, so all the skyscrapers that are built get shoehorned into those blocks as these ultra-skinny towers or whatever, then people flip out about NYC going through a "building boom" but it's all flame....there's less construction in NYC now than there was during the Great Depression. |

Date: May 15th, 2021 10:38 PM Author: Claret bateful office it's a lot easier to build big commercial buildings in NYC than residential. NY state has a statewide floor area cap on residential of only 12x the lot area, whereas commercial is allowed up to 36x in areas like Hudson Yards.
But China and most of Asia blow through both of these caps in their largest cities.
The "tallest residential buildings" in NYC are only tall bc they're pencil-dicked. A bunch of voids and super-skinny towers so that floor area isn't expended so they can stay below the floor area cap. Normal Asian buildings with similar floor area ratios are 15, maybe 20 stories.
as far as jew developers--yes, when you have an over-regulated system like America's zoning system then well-connected jews are the only ones able to game it to get anything built at all |
