Ippo and Ashita no Joe have good moments, but are just way too long to be worth it and are consistently overrated by a crowd whose standard for a tight, welll-written story is one piece.
Team sports shows are all derivative homobait that blend together because they have exactly the same story notes and characters. You can enjoy these shows if you only expose yourself to a few good ones (I liked Run with the Wind), but ultimately none of them stand out from the crowd. |
