sunday forecasts for portland have been ranging from 106 to 112. the city's all-time high is 107. oregon's capital of salem tops out at 108; the current sunday forecast is 110. the entire state of oregon's modern (reliably-recorded) all-time high is only 117, which may be exceeded east of the cascade mountains.
we'll see what unfolds.

that would absolutely demolish the all-time highs throughout the entire region. also, lol @ all the street junkies who wear jackets even when it is warm outside in order to hide their weapons/drugs/stolen goods. they are going to get baked alive. seriously; i bet quite a few of them will cook to death in their tents after getting high and falling asleep.

Astronomical night around the solstice (when the sky is free from suns influence) is like 2 hours.
That's part of what makes this heat interesting. It usually takes the atmosphere longer to warm up, so the hot days happen when the daylight hours have begun to recede. Not this time, it's damn near the solstice. Only second time on record Seattle isn't expected to drop below 70 for the night time low. Of all the numbers and stats that one sucks the most.
Of course the coast is looking like mid 80s for a high. And a mile off shore it's 65.
