Lol. I'm reminded of Walker Percy's quip about trying to keep a diary, and realizing that all he could think of each and every day was something to the effect of:
"I can't think think of anything especially noteworthy to say - maybe that's a sign of some kind? What does it say about the post-Christian world that nothing seems noteworthy? That the signs no longer signify?"
He didn't keep a journal for long, as you might imagine...

TY. It's not often I receive a recommendation from a trusted poaster which I'm completely unaware of: 180!
As a token of my gratitude, have you heard of:
Hōjōki or An Account of My Hut circa 1212 by Kamo no Chōmei
LOL: great minds think alike! Just looked it up and found that we are referring to 2 of the big 3. 1800000000000
Tsurezuregusa (徒然草, Essays in Idleness, also known as The Harvest of Leisure) is a collection of essays written by the Japanese monk Yoshida Kenkō between 1330 and 1332.
The work is widely considered a gem of medieval Japanese literature and one of the three representative works of the zuihitsu[1] genre, along with Makura no Sōshi and the Hōjōki.

The feeling is mutual, my friend! Now that we're talking about them, I'm going to read all 3:
Haven't read Hojoki in close to 10 years, so it will be interesting to see how it speaks to me as an early 30'smo; Tsurezuregusa/The Harvest of Leisure sounds 180, especially given your recommendation; and the 3rd sounds epic as well:
The Pillow Book (枕草子, Makura no Sōshi) is a book of observations and musings recorded by Sei Shōnagon during her time as court lady to Empress Consort Teishi during the 990s and early 1000s in Heian Japan. The book was completed in the year 1002.

Speaking of great Chinese art, from the recent past:

Great minds think alike, what else is new :-)
And you’re not kidding re: the wholesomeness involved, Ho Lee Fuk.
In terms of the benefits of (genuine) cultural exchange, there’s a reason why I’m always advocating for Walt Disney’s It’s a Small World After All:
Mostly homogeneous nations (which is what most successful nations are, even though libs play dumb for obvious reasons - even the “diversity” of Asian countries is mostly different Asian ethnicities, China is 90% Han Chinese, etc.);
Peacefully trading, enjoying tourism, foreign exchange students, sharing cultural ideas, etc. None of which require permanent foreign citizenship, as it turns out, carpetbagger and Misery Industrial Complex (“refugee” resettlement services subsidized by taxpayers, etc.) agitprop to the contrary.
And another thing people forget is that Walt Disney was America First - so here was a sincerely cosmopolitan guy enamored with the value of foreign cultures, beloved by all around the world; and yet he also understood the value of national pride and common national ancestry.

TY, my brother.
It's amazing how many beautiful people, inside and out, of all races and nations there are out there: and how just a little bit of common sense (as guys like Disney had in amazing quantities) can make all the difference for all the decent and wholesome people of the world.
And there are a LOT more decent and wholesome people out there worldwide than it may appear at first glance - that's what's so crazy about all this!

"I don't tell them how to live their lives because I am a guest. But now I feel like they are imposing their will on me and I can't just live my life as I want because I have to be tolerant and accepting of these alien cultures and ideas imposed on me right in my own country."
Could not have said it better myself, brother. We are through the looking glass / in MAJOR crazy pills territory: down is up, national/cultural sovereignty is evil (but only if you're white, of course, ljl).
Everything globalist liberal is just so passive aggressive and deceitful - very Satanic, sadly. Marxist Globohomo / blank slate dogma brainwashing from birth has caused us to forget that EVERYBODY, all races and nationalities, have the right to a home, both geographically and culturally.
And we all intuitively know this: As C.S. Lewis said in Mere Christianity, it's easy to play dumb about right and wrong when somebody else's wellbeing is at stake...
...not so much when we ourselves have skin in the game, as with the current trend of foreign nationals from unapologetic ethnostates calling white people "xenophobic" for wanting to preserve our way of life (just as they do at home, and rightfully so!)
