When you see coins that have already 2, 3, or 5Xed from IEO day, just know you are already buying on top of insane pumps after multiple post-seed rounds.

Think about what you have to gain versus what whales who pump their projects on xoxo have to gain. You've already lost in the game when you buy on top of a 8500% pump like what happened with ATLAS. Is retail enjoying their "gains" right now? Check the ATLAS charts if you don't believe me. (and no, dont bump this thread a year from now and tell me it mooned. im talking about IEO day vs now.)

The truth is you are most likely going to be ending up losing all your money thinking HODLing to the moon will make you rich. You WILL get destroyed by the whales and ride your coins back down to zero during the bear.

in theory, anonynous rogue whales could exist and pump and dump here but there's not much of a reason for them to shill here. they would be shilling under a pumo username, have no credibility, and would be shilling to a limited audience.

that being said, IDO/IEO/ICOs obviously have the capacity to pump astronomically and then to quietly die off, so the trick is to screen for the good ones and then to manage risk by selling some (but not all) of the position into the rally. you always want to keep a foothold in the good ones bc u never know whether it will resurrect in the long-term like LINK.

the way i would handle shitcoin trading is: take a look at the trend of returns in shitcoins after the initial release and form an exit strategy based on that. for example, if shitcoins are consistently going up 10x, then it's prudent to only exit part of the stack at 3x. otoh, if you see a trend where shitcoin pumps are weakening over time, then trade out of a greater % of your stack at a lower multiplier.

however, it's still important to keep a foothold in the more promising shitcoins. i have literally lost out on 7 fig gains from shitcoins that i completely exited in 2017.
