I ran a little spreadsheet 2020 election night. Some weird shit happened.

I remember watching the vote come in. Just for my own entertainment, I kept a little spreadsheet throughout the evening and night, tracking votes, to keep track of what spread of votes still coming in had to go blue or red for different outcomes in each state. The thing that blew me away in the early morning hours is that in the battleground states like PA and MI, the “total votes” kept jumping up by multiple 100,000s, at the same time that Biden votes jumped up by multiple 100,000s: in the early morning hours like 2am, 3am, 4am. I kept having to increase the denominators in my spreadsheet by 100,000s of “unexpected” votes, in the middle of the night. Without those extra shit ton of “unexpected” votes coming in in the middle of the night, Biden does not win any of those states.
