The basic premise of my investments is finding real value among all the BS of this bubble era. Euro stocks have lagged way behind US stocks for the last 15 years. And yet Airbus makes much better planes than Boeing. Plus the EU is much more fiscally responsible than the US. My gut says there is real value in euro stocks, and I like being out of dollar-denominated assets.

More reasons to buy Euro stocks: P/E ratio of euro stocks is much lower, plus with China looking like a very bad place to invest in coming years, those looking to buy foreign stocks will increasingly look to Europe.

U.S. companies and CEOs if nothing else excel at getting their stock prices to rise.

the entire US economy is based on maximizing stock price and corp prices at the expense of all else including customers, employees, and society

its not like that in EU, dats why when ive bought a intl ETF with EU exposure its always seemed to underperform SP500

Well yeah, but you could argue that's priced into the current value of US stocks which is dramatically higher than it was 10 years ago.

No one in the world knows for sure about any of this stuff- you basically have to go with your gut feeling on a lot of this stuff.

My gut feeling is US stocks are overvalued, even accounting for our pro-corporate culture. Could be wrong of course.

Agree with the carnival description, which is part of the reason I don't want to support it. Unless it's very clear that we're not near the top of a US stock bubble, I don't feel good about supporting it with my money, just out of basic principle.

If I get burned by going the EU route, then at least I'll know I put my money where my principles are. But my gut feeling tells me I won't get burned and that there are limits to even the Fed's power to pump shit up.

At any rate, this is like a 20 year investment for me, so I won't sweat over the short-term results, good or bad.

another thing with EU is how the fuk will they sustain growth rates, they are dying and have demographic problems, southern EU is a net drain as are eastern countries that only have positive GDP growth cause of EU subsidies and remittances.. economically they are just going to stagnant or at best grow 1-2% going forward

Most nights I watch the German news online. The average IQ in Germany seems like 15 points higher than in America.

Granted, southern Europe is a drag, but I see Europe overall as well ahead of America.

Airbus vs. Boeing is a good example- the Euros don't seem to have any trouble keeping their planes in the air.
