Put it like this dumbass.
The shit that's about to unfold on you is going to seem just as insane as all the shit that happened until now.

I don’t believe the various Australians any more than anyone in the US, but why would they say it’s temporary? I can’t figure out the motivation. It was bizarre to me when I heard it, but essentially Australia was like “unvax can’t work and are locked down for an extra few months.”
I mean it is two weeks to flatten the curve again, but why say it’s temporary at all?

Agree on the first part, don’t know enough about Australian law on the second.
My theory all along has been that this is a game of coercion until it does not matter anymore.
It’s a lot harder to justify, say weekly testing or vax, if there is functionally no spread of the disease (depends on a winter wave or not), and various challenges will work their way through the courts (natural immunity, scope of justifiable exemption requests, accommodations for those with a religious or medical exemption) and, at the end of the day, you have 2/3rds of the population not subject to any current or planned mandate and not a particularly clear way to make them subject on a federal level. Layer on that one can move into that group (switch jobs, not work) and that there are probably 10-20% of people who will never get the jab short of at the point of a gun (and probably more who won’t get their kids vaxed — look at the statutes on vaccines for schools in a lot of states and the UK stance on child vaccination for Covid) and it’s just not going to happen that everyone will be vaccinated. Right now, they are just chipping at the margins, the increases in vax are not that big, and they are also probably being outpaced by waning immunity.
PS the biggest question on the OSHA regs is whether it’s going to need to be PCR or Lateral Flow or at home. If you want an idea for a very valuable app, design one to read and upload at home Covid tests for employers. It would be really easy.
