Use bottles when kid is hungry. Not necessarily formula, but don't buy the nipple confusion dogma.
Aim to get kid sleeping solo in crib by 6-8 weeks. It'll still wake up half way through night, but feed in room and put them back down.
You're going to be tired.

Just follow your wife's lead. You are there to provide support and stability. Her mind is going in a dozen different places at any given moment. Don't expect her to be rational.
Get used to random-ass feeding times. Just accept the fact that your kid will SCREAM AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS at 2:30 a.m. Check to see if they need a diaper change, if that doesn't make them happy, then go make a bottle. You should be able to put the baby back down within 15 min of them waking up.

There are only like 5 things that infants cry over. Go down the list and deal with each one and you’ll solve it. Babies aren’t complicated it’s just hard to deal with on no sleep
1. Hungry
2. Cold/hot
3. Ate too much/constipated
4. Tired - just learn its favorite way to rock it to sleep
5. Poo
Get family help if you can it’s invaluable
Good luck brother

Baby sleeps in the crib. Baby does not sleep in your bed.
Make sure that there is nothing in the crib other than the baby when the baby sleeps there.
If you or your wife is worried that the baby will flip over and suffocate, there are actually mattresses out there that allow the baby to breathe through the mattress (they're porous).
You will be exhausted for years, and the same goes for your wife. Congratulations!
EDIT - more stuff I thought of:
People buy all kinds of shit that babies don't need and get worried about shit that doesn't matter. We have a diaper warmer. We have never used it, and our babies don't care. We have all kinds of fancy diaper changing equipment. That's all fine, but lately I just do diaper changes on the floor (on top of a mat). It's been completely fine.
Start reading to your baby as soon as it becomes clear that the baby kind of understands what's going on. Obviously, the baby will not understand WTF a book is immediately, but even getting the baby used to the idea is great. Reading stories to your children when they're small is 180, and you will get there.
Some people get really hung up on feeding the baby formula for some reason. It's certainly fine to feed the baby formula once in a while. Some babies are entirely formula-fed, and they all turn out fine.
Don't compare your baby to other people's babies. Children develop at remarkably different rates and acquire different skills at different times. Our first dotter started walking really late. Oh well. She runs around everywhere now and is no different from any other child her age.

To add to the first post, not only use bottles, but if the kid is cranky, try using formula - especially after 3 months. These breast feeding chicks will tell you its awful, etc, but women today don't produce enough breast milk a lot of the time - so just keeping the kid well fed will do wonders. You can buy a Baby Breeza which is like a formula Keurig and is awesome to just have the bottle automatically made for you and at the perfect temp at 3 am.
After like 2 months the baby should be on a schedule (maybe even earlier). YOu don't have to live your life to it like some parents do, but the baby will do much better if its like "okay at 10 am it wakes up, 10-11 someone holds it, 11-12 it chills on its own, then 12:30 it gets 6 oz and goes back to bed." Basically your goal is tire the kid out when he wakes up, then get it to drink a huge bottle of formula and fall asleep in a food coma - then repeat that 6 times a day. The worst thing you can do is just feed it a little bit every hour or so.
Also, it isn't for everyone, but eventually my wife and I found that we work better with a strict schedule. She has the kid from 1-4, then I have 4-7, then she has 7-10, then I have 10-5 am, then she has 5 am to 10 am, etc. It's much better than either arguing about it or even worse both of you doing it all the time.

After five months or so you want baby to take two naps. An hour nap in the morning and two hours in afternoon. No napping past 3pm.
Don’t feed right before naps or it will create a bad habit.
Our daughter napped from 9-10 and 1-3.
