any recs aside from the standard fare Island in the Sky / Dead Horse State Park drives/vistas? been once before, enjoyed those spots, want to check out some more stuff.

i plan to do the Shafer Canyon Road offroad trail.

FYI, flying in to Grand Junction, CO - plan to check out some of the shit east of Moab on my way into the area, like the Bull Canyon Dinosaur Track Trail and Porcupine Rim overlook. also gunna check out some of the Anasazi shit like House on Fire in Mule Canyon

after Moab, driving south to Monument Valley. going to do the Moki Dugway and Muley Point off road trail as part of that trip

Corona Arch on BLM land, free solo Stolen Chimney.

Edit: it doesn’t sound like you’re a Moab masterman so I’ll add hike to Delicate Arch at sunset or sunrise if you haven’t been there.

Both arches are 180 as hell. Don’t know about chimney but I imagine people die there a lot.

It’s a joke. No one should free solo it. But it is one of the classic rock climbs in America and one most reasonably athletic non-fat males could hire a guide and do.

Was there last year w a hiking group. Didn’t spend much time in town but it’s nice. Esp if you like Indian art.
