You will be dropped at a random location in the Florida Everglades. You can bring with you a standard sized school back pack with anything you want in it other than floatation equipment, communication equipment, and navigation equipment. The bag must be able to zip shut with your gear in it.

If you make it to the Everglades National Park visitor center, you get the $2M.

You can make it $3M if you go with no gear other than the clothes on your back plus shoes.

Do you accept? What are you bringing?

By "navigation equipment," do you mean GPS or a satellite beacon that can give you your exact location? Or does it include things like a compass and a map? And am I guaranteed not to be dropped into the middle of a huge pond that I have to swim out of (which would most likely destroy all my gear instantly)? If I could at least bring a compass and a map, I would consider this. The most important thing to bring would be water filtration equipment and then probably some type of shelter. It should be possible to hike to a road or some kind of civilization within a few days if you have a compass to avoid getting turned around. But it seems like it would be extremely risky without at least a compass.

Everglades aren't that big, so no navigation equipment at all here.

No guarantee you won't be dropped in water. Put your gear in plastic bags in the backpack.

Water filter is cr. Not sure if you need shelter. It's warm and a tent is bulky. Maybe raincoat and small sleeping bag.

Accept? Would you accept if you got a basic compass?

easy yes. the water never gets above waist high and you're never more than about 10 miles from a trail or road if you can manage to head in a cardinal direction. all you would need is a wading suit and boots, water filtration system, bug repellant, and food. there aren't many dangerous animals in there they can piece a wading suit. alligators are not very dangerous to humans. crocs are but are very rare and reclusive. with any sense you can avoid them. if i'm getting dropped at dawn it should be easy as pie to make it out before nightfall. i suppose i'd pack a backpacking tent and headlamp just in case.

CR that everglades aren't that big and you're never too far from a road or trail. You won't be able to fit wading gear and a tent and food in a regular school backpack. What are you leaving out? Do you really need wading gear and bug spray if you're only planning on being in for a couple days? No fear of gators? There are some huge ones.

check out the # of fatal alligator attacks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fatal_alligator_attacks_in_the_United_States

people are hanging out in the everglades all the time in kayaks and shit. it's a risk, but probably statistically no worse than getting hit by a car i try to flag down on alligator alley or something.

the wading gear is clothing, so i assume it is not taking up backpack space. i definitely want the bug spray. at the very least i'd have room for a thumb sized bottle that would last a couple days. might opt for a backpacking hammock over a tent that could double as a raincoat.

Last time I walked in the swamp I stood upon a cypress stump. I listened close and I heard the ghost, of Osceola cry.
