Hes not in trouble for filming he’s in trouble for assaulting arbery with his truck and trying to block him from escaping and falsely imprisoning him but yeah considering he wasn’t even with the yokels who shot him it seems like bs for him to be liable for felony murder

I’m not personally that sympathetic to them, though I recognize that there is a lot of gray areas here that can go either way. There’s a reason it was in the news: it’s controversial; had it been obvious murder or obvious self defense, non of us would have heard about it.
With that said, it’s hard for me to imagine what these ‘tards were thinking. That they were going to place some guy under citizens arrest and then turn him over to police with zero evidence? The police would have had to just let him go. Or that after chasing the guy down for 5 minutes they were going to be able to claim self-defense because when they corner him he doesn’t just surrender without a fight to three complete strangers with guns? Yeah right, these dudes were in no way empowered to chase some random guy down. Even the homeowner at the center of the case pointed out he never asked these guys to do shit for him, and hadn’t showed them any videos.
The idea that you get to claim self defense after the other guy ran over a mile fleeing from you while you attempted to illegally detain him is ludicrous. The jury correctly rejected that argument. But it doesn’t matter what I think. I live in a completely different state, and these dudes were found guilty by a jury of their peers from their own city/state/area. They get to determine the laws they live under, not some federal judge or a jury of disparate Americans from California or Minnesota.
