If you're not that, you may find that it sucks. The university has a pretty small number of grad students, and Oxford is a really small town. As of a few years ago, the bars closed at midnight. Social life there is really, really dependent on the fraternity scene. I couldn't see how someone would go there for grad school.
Also, the girls are extremely focused on finding a husband. This leads them to latch onto the first guy who seems open to a relationship. This dynamic creates what I call the SEC Effect, found throughout SEC schools but most noticeable there, where you see some tall blonde Southern dimepiece, an absolute ten out of ten, with some goofy looking dude who might be shorter than her. But that goofy looking dude is still a white Southern frat dude, so don't get your hopes up. Ole Miss girls who are at the top of the scale are the hottest in the SEC, but they don't hook up and they don't date non-whites, or even non-fraternity white guys.
But it's a beautiful campus. Worth a visit if for no other reason than to see it. |

Mississippi is the poorest state, but that doesn't stop it from having a small but wealthy, white elite. It was interesting to see the results of the 2012 Republican presidential primary. It may be harder to date at Ole Miss if you are Asian, but once your net worth exceeds a certain threshold, you can date anyone you want regardless of race.
