The sort of people that can actually learn something useful (a STEM). Otherwise, they absolutely should be learning a trade close to home. The fact that some electrician can't afford $50k/year (not including living expenses) for a kid to go to college to major in gender studies doesn't in any way mean that electrician should have spent more time in school so they could push papers for more money (most people that went to school to do that ended up with no money and big debt).
Basically, the problem here is that no society of people like you would ever work. In the US you're a parasitic class that relies on others doing the real work. In Israel, your only country, you rely on people that aren't Jewish to do your work. How to use their labor but not let them vote but still call yourself a democracy occupies a significant percentage of the national dialogue. |

It started much earlier. He went to daycare and then pre-school and such when he was like 2-3. Family business? Destroyed by Walmart, Amazon and other shit - and that's who his parents work for. His gf? She went to a different college halfway around the country anyway. At any rate, she was encouraged by guidance counselors, parents, tv shows, online articles and everyone else to place zero priority on her hs relationship. She didn't even make a token effort to go to the same school or even one nearby (despite losing her virginity to this guy and having largely grown up together). Support network? What's that? There's no real extended family, parents aren't close, school friends were mostly friends of convenience that, like gf, spread across the country. Not like anyone returns to their "hometown" (I use quotes because it is common to move several times during childhood anyway because parents got a better job). |
