played baseball and soccer in HS, was always a leader and was captain
got a full scholarship for soccer to UVA, studied accounting
9/11 happened while he was at UVA
wanted to be fbi, hence the accounting
worked as an accountant for like 6 months in 2004 and was like fuck this, joined the Marines 2 monthe later
had no idea about anything Marine related, so he was bottom of his class at OCS at the beginning |

- he was an excellent officer and had impeccable ratings for his performance
- awarded the bronze star when during a firefight in afghanstan he basically went beserk and chased down 3-4 taliban and killed them, after which he realized he was like 200m away from any of his guys
- never told his wife about his plans to make these videos
- was fired 36 hours after the first video
- they tried to make him seem crazy and on the run when in fact no one had even tried to contact him
- was arrested and spent 9 days in jail. For the first 3-4 days he had no reading or writing material and finally saw the charges against him, which included testimony about how he had smiled in his command portrait, thus making him unlikeable
- deliberately made his 4th video the day before generals and join chiefs were to testify about the Afghan withdrawal debacle. They were asked questions about issues he raised because of this
- wife stuck with him through 17 years of deployments and just when she thought they would live quietly in NC for the remaining 3 years with their 3 sons he pulled this shit. he never slept in the same bed with her again after the second video |
