Planes definitely still have magnetic compasses, it's an FAA inspection item, and it's a fallback for when GNSS doesn't work, which is a possible outcome when the planetary magnetic field isn't shielding the upper atmosphere from radiation.

Magnetic fuckery -> more radiation -> less reliable GNSS

Magnetic fuckery -> less reliable magnetic compasses

Less reliable GNSS and less reliable magnetic compasses -> I'd prefer a skilled pilot
