No, 1776 was the start of the decline, had the King remained in place, the undesirables would've known their place and would've never gotten so uppity.
1776-> 1860 -> 1918 -> 1964 -> Hell
That's what happens when you tell everyone they're equal special snowflakes.

Anyway, it's sort of wrong in some sense as America up until 2000 was relatively 'normal'. Homosexuals were expected to stay quiet and not get uppity as were non-whites in general.
Everything went to hell under Bush who pandered hard to Mouthbreathing Christians, stole an election and started an illegal war which made libs lose their minds to the extent that they elected Far-Left Anti-War Obama who may have underdelivered on economics, but he certainly delivered on culture.
Obama boosted the power of BLM/Antifa/OWS/Gay Lobby/Non-White Lobbies in general.
Literally all Conservatives needed to do was not have a hard-on for Bill Clinton and give Gore/Hillary passes and all of this could've been avoided. Logically they should've given them passes in 2000/2008 as they were actually accomodative towards Conservatives unlike Obama.

1972 zeitgeist definitely closer to today in terms of cynicism, violence, and feeling of decline
The number of bombings in the US during the late 60s and early 70s is staggering
