Cask strength specifically.
Also I said it is woefully underrated because it's ubiquitous whereas everyone is chasing rare stuff that is just as good as MM, perhaps far less so (Weller line).
Also I was talking about it specifically for wheated Bourbon. I would say wild turkey products are the overall best in widely available if you prefer rye based.
Four Roses is my favorite overall, especially their cask strength store picks. But their select cask strength is also excellent and pretty widely available.

exactly.
but in the realm of wheaters maker's is very overlooked because it's ubiquitous. there just aren't that many, because they've always been less popular. then pappy blew up and everyone decided they're a wheat fan. makers outsold weller handsomely even amongst bourbon enthusists before the current craze. weller's success is completely tied to pappy since it's "essentially" younger pappy. this has led to everything from buffalo trace becoming unobtainable.
it's always interesting to go on straightbourbon.com and dig up threads from before like 2013. people that were really into bourbon before it became hip and collectable were pretty unpretentious.

you are getting the wrong advice here if you are asking about asia. the birdshits here dont know anything about liquor preferences in asia. and is this for yourself, or you are gifting to someone, or what is the situation?
in asia its different than the us. asians are all about status of the label and price v the actual taste. you can never go wrong with a bottle of blue label or remy martin vsop in asia with the older generations. the newer younger crowd will appreciate mcallan or glenfedditch.
you have to remember, a lot of what asians know about western liquor is what they see in duty free shops in airports, which is why johnnie walker is so popular in asia. it used to signify a well heeled and well travelled person. they dont know the various small brands that come from buffalo trace or the nuances between whiskey blend v single malt v bourbon. what they do know is looking at price tags and labels in duty free shops.
also, vietnamese in particular REALLY like hennessey.
