Maybe the guy needed silencing or maybe someone else did. Maybe the guy already talked (even years ago) and now someone else was thinking of talking.

Somehow along the way Clinton picks him up as an advisor. I guess he felt needed to lean on this HVAC technician for advice. But either Clinton was a cheapskate, or the relationship was extremely short-lived because the dood only left behind $100k in assets, not what you'd expect from a guy who runs with the Clintons.

Alternatively, I suppose it's possible this guy was flush at some point, but was bled dry by extortioners or something. Maybe he killed self because he was down to his last $100k, and if it went any further it would put his family on the street or force him to come clean and go to prison/risk death. Maybe they negotiated an exit with him but it went shitty. Not clear.

Also you gotta think about how they approached the family. They would have said to the wife "husbands fuct, ur gonna get put on he street and left with NOINCOME, it's just a matter of time, but after we're done with him we'll put $500k in a trust." Family could have helped them stage it.
