I was impressed with just how well the gameplay analogy was drawn to the average poor trans woman in a city: remarkably boring, repeatedly unsatisfying and incredibly pathetic in a way that perfectly reflects the kind of person I resolved not to be.
Great characters and setting, though, if you could actually travel around and go to other locations our continue past the endings it would be pretty CR.
Biggest weaknesses are the lack of cross referencing between plot lines and your relative inability to engage in physical violence, which in my opinion kind of ruins the game overall. (You're literally a mafia enforcer but some random asshole is just harassing you and making you pay for their drinks? Come on.) |

Dishonored+2. Not as much interaction but otherwise probably the closest games to those two I can think of and great in their own right |

honestly the only thing that comes to mind in terms of open world games is BoTW. most open world games are extremely unrewarding in terms of exploration and just an endless series of "collect widgets". even though elden ring still has a ton of repetition, it did the "stumble on random shit" pretty well. |

A pure 3d shooter masterpiece perfectly polished in so many ways . . . literally have to go back to Panzer Dragoon Orta to find a game that excels as much in a similar capacity.
There is also the Demons Souls remake, which is pretty good. That game has aways been underrated/underappreciated in the Soulsborne genre. The level design is fantastic. |

in general though I find most of these games pretty boring and avoid them, and the ARPGS I really like (eg souls games) are definitely not because of the setting. |

Also have greatly enjoyed civ 2 and civ 4 BTS, lots of rpgs. Some of my favorite rpgs are Chrono Trigger and Shining Force and Tales of Vesperia. Also really liked Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim. Love megaman, have beaten 1-11, can do no damage runs. 100%ed Dark Souls, it was easy next to megaman but fun to gank people. Tend to get obsessed and develop a fairly high lvl of skill in games. Just finished a Vesperia run on the Switch, beat Draco in unknown mode. I also like fighting games like SF2, SF3, MvC2, Etc. Used to be friends with Justin Wong and hang out in Chinatown arcade. Oh, and I cleared peggle and peggle blast, no boosts or $.
Have a Switch. Could get another console.

I'm ass at fighting games so not the best judge of them from a technical standpoint, but Guilty Gear Strive was fun as fuck when I was messing around with it. It seemed to have a pretty good reception within the fighting game community; also if you like vesperia you might enjoy the silly general anime-ness of it.
it's available on the playstations but I think the PC community is bigger (in addition to having more options for peripherals, better fps/input timing, blah blah). |

If you were a vidja nut in past would suggest at least playing around with it since it's free, it can be fun if you suck and just fuck around in unranked too.
