I expect things to get explosive, her throwing my stuff across the room, etc. I also stopped drinking recently which really changed my perception of her behavior that I was fine with when I drank every day. I’m not even attracted enough to her to ATD.
Curious to hear from the bort how your breakups have gone and what I should expect. |

Sobriety made me realize how clingy, emotionally needy, and annoying she was, and that she’d be a nightmare to parent with. I was overlooking these things for a long time in the hope that stability would get her to mature (she was out of work for 9 months starting from when we moved in) and be more responsible, but her erratic behavior has only gotten worse even with the new job. I get random phone calls where she overreacts to something minor at work or home and is on the verge of tears, and I have to talk her down. When I don’t indulge her, she gets pissy and asks if I’m really committed. Afterwards she apologizes and calls me her rock. I’ve had a lot going on personally recently that I was able to ignore most of this, and generally risk averse at throwing away what was once a marriage track relationship, but now being alone sounds incredibly appealing. You are very, very lucky that you never have to find out. Make 100% sure she is not pregnant now, then do nothing that could possibly get her pregnant. Rest is details and the drama will fade with time, the important thing is not to be bound to this person for life. |
