Date: August 15th, 2022 10:41 PM Author: bright brunch psychic XOXOHTH culture 2004-2010 was, as much as anything, about insanely long acronyms comprehensible only to megapoasters. It was 180 and insane. I remember my first weeks here seeing entire threads of indecipherable acronyms. I felt like some cryptographer who lied about my background to get a job.
Then, one day after months of fruitless persistence, I could suddenly read everything. It was as close to a Damascus experience as anything I’ve had.
You had to rewire your brain to “get” xo. You had to intuit what someone *would* post. Once you got xo brain, it all fell into place so beautifully
I haven’t seen a new acronym on xo in ages and even the old ones have faded. Sad |
