Why can "shithole" countries like India become better at infrastructure than TTT USA? Mumbai airport use to be a total disaster 20+ years ago, now its 10x more modern than anything in TTT USA

Ahmedabad Metro (Gujarati: અમદાવાદ મેટ્રો) is a rapid transit system for the cities of Ahmedabad, New Ahmedabad, Greater Ahmedabad, Nadiad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India. It is being built by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (formerly Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad or MEGA), a Special Purpose Vehicle company constituted in 2018 to implement all metro projects in Gujarat.
The company was established in February 2010 and the Phase–1 of the project was approved in October 2013. Construction of Ahmedabad Metro started on 14 March 2015.[6][7][8] A section of east–west corridor was inaugurated on 4 March 2019 by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi[9] and was opened to the public on 6 March 2019.[10] The rest of the Phase-1 has completed by 20th July 2022.[11]
In January 2021, the construction of the 31.27 km (19.43 mi) long Phase-2 connecting Ahmedabad with Gandhinagar was started.[12] GNLU to GIFT City line is expected to open in early 2023.[13] |
