Steroids extended the prime of their career for players past the arbitration stage - so the Yankees of the 90s could throw money at Clemens, Giambi, Pettite, Sheffield, etc
Now like 95% of free agent deals go horribly because there just aren't that many 35 year olds who can outplay a 26 year old. |
