Here’s the real truth - you cannot predict the short run path of stocks and they can go up or down a lot for any reason or no reason. They’re not suitable for short term needs and and speculative amateur trading is a dumb hobby. But they’re the only liquid asset with the potential to earn positive real returns. Long term bonds and cash destroy value given that the stated policy of Fed is constant inflation and they have blown way past their target inflation level with no indication that they can get it under control. So if you are investing for the long term you need stocks and should ignore daily fluctuations other than to rebalance and make sure you always have enough liquidity. |

But I think this pump will be short lived and better prices will be found later this year
I expect cpi to show some big decreases by spring/summer which should cause the fed to at least pause so there is a limited window here to buy the bottom in the coming months. That's my guess anyway. |
